The death of Louisa Ioannidis has been the subject of renewed public attention, thanks to years of persistence and investigative work by our director, Julia Robson. What began as Troubled Waters (a podcast she investigated, wrote, and hosted) has since evolved into a two-part Australian Story documentary broadcast nationally (and is available to an international audience on Youtube).
The documentary has had a significant impact. In its wake, David Limbrick MP raised Louisa’s case in the Victorian State Parliament, highlighting the petition signed by thousands of Australians calling for a coronial inquest. Read the Hansard record.
Recent media coverage has further demonstrated the importance of revisiting this case:
- ABC News: New evidence raises questions about the original investigation
- Mamamia: Troubled Waters podcast
- Neos Kosmos: Fresh evidence reignites calls to reopen the case
Momentum continues to build. As Louisa’s family and supporters await the outcome of their request, more voices are joining the call for answers.
