Our team is made up of experienced professionals who contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of our investigative services.
Our team consists of mature-age professionals with diverse backgrounds, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to their investigative work. We value the unique skills and thoughtful approach they offer, ensuring that every case is handled with thoroughness, discretion, and professionalism
At this time, we are not open to trainees or mentorship programs. We prefer to focus on maintaining a small but dedicated and experienced team that can provide expert insights and exceptional service to our clients.
Director – Julia Robson
Julia Robson is an experienced investigator and investigative podcaster, recognised for her expertise in complex locates, due diligence, and sensitive corporate matters.
Julia began her career with the New Zealand Police, followed by corporate investigative work in the United Kingdom. In 2012, she founded Online Investigations Pty Ltd in Melbourne, where she continues to conduct investigations for legal professionals, businesses, and corporate clients across Australia.
Her investigative experience spans a variety of complex and sensitive matters, including:
- Locating individuals in complex or historical cases, including witnesses, debtors, and persons of interest in legal proceedings.
- Conducting due diligence for corporate clients, helping them verify personal and business backgrounds, relationships, and reputational risks.
- Reuniting families separated by adoption or displacement, with a strong focus on ethical and compassionate investigative practices.
- Protecting intellectual property, including investigations into online brand impersonation and unauthorised product use.
Julia has provided expert reports for historical locate and online investigation matters, supporting legal proceedings with her in-depth knowledge and attention to detail.
In 2024, she was honoured with the Investigator of the Year award by the Council of International Investigators. Her work has also attracted significant public attention. Her podcast series, Chasing Charlie, about a long-running international conman, reached #1 in both Australia and New Zealand.
In 2024, Julia released Troubled Waters, a re-investigation into the 2011 death of Louisa Ioannidis. The podcast uncovered new evidence and was nominated for Best New Show at the Australian Podcast Awards. It was also featured on multiple end-of-year lists on Apple Podcasts.
Julia’s media appearances include being the sole investigator on Network TEN’s Long Lost Family, where she successfully reunited several families. Her work on Mix FM’s PI Case Files contributed to the show’s first-ever #1 ranking during breakfast programming, a significant milestone in the station’s history.
Today, Julia continues to work closely with corporate and legal clients across Australia, applying open-source intelligence and methodical research to solve cases where others have reached a dead end.
