PIToolbox.com.au – The Number One resource for online investigators and DIY detectives

Introducing the PI Toolbox.

As an Australian online investigator, it is important to recognise that our methods of investigation need to adapt on what can be considered a daily basis as technology changes and people find new ways to interact online.  Where  as recently as five years ago Myspace was the number one social networking site that EVERYONE had to be on, it is quite reasonable to state that these days Facebook have clearly won that race.

What this means for an online investigator however, is that the time not spent on actual investigations requires researching the latest social media trends and online services in order to stay well ahead of the latest methods of profiling individuals online.  There is no point offering our clients an investigation using out of date resources, as not only are we doing a disservice to our clients, we will also be working significantly harder to obtain a successful result.

One of the biggest obstacles Australian private investigators and skip tracers face is finding online resources and records which are relevant to Australian based investigations.  Although there are an extensive list of shoddy sham websites out there claiming to provide you with an Australian individuals detailed criminal history for a fee, the reality is our laws are very different to countries such as America and we simply are unable to obtain this information without the signed consent of the target individual.  Our laws also currently favour the privacy of our registered sex offenders and to the detriment of many innocent families in the wider community there is no public register that allows us to identify the dark secrets residing in our neighbourhood.

With this said, there is (remarkably) a number of public registers which are available for viewing in every state across Australia.  Over time I have kept a record of these registers and in line with the launch of my new business, Online Investigations Pty Ltd, I am now sharing these on an easy to use website I have appropriately stylised the PI Toolbox (http://www.pitoolbox.com.au).  This site offers relevant sites to help both the most advanced investigators and skip tracers to the amateur DIY detective looking to find information on an Australian based individual or subject.

I encourage you to view the range of sites and above all else seek your feedback as to whether you found this service useful.  Your feedback will help me determine whether I should continue updating this site or whether I am the only one passionate about online investigative resources.
